Next we will be
mounting the amps under the seats. In our amp kit we include
the spacers and the self-tapping screws shown. Be sure to check
under your Toy when you install these. Ensure you did not hit
anything under the car. Make sure to account for every screw under
your Toy. NOTE: The nut driver for your drill can
be picked up at home depot. It should be a 5/16 head.
Also, make sure to have an extension as this one shown was to short
and would have hit our amps. Look for a 5/16 head with a
2.5 inch shaft. The one shown here is pretty short. For a clear
picture of this see our tool listing at the end of the instructions.
The spacers in our kit our white, our installer used
black tape to "black them out". The spacers serve two purposes. The
first is to keep the amp off the floor, the second is to avoid
crushing the rear air vents. If your drill has a clutch be
sure to set it pretty low. Do not overtighten the screws. The
spacers should be installed between the amp and the floor to "lift"
it off the floor.
NOTE: Use caution and work
slowly. Our installer stopped half way on each screw and
checked under the Toy to ensure nothing would be hit by the screw as
it comes out the bottom. We also used some caulk to ensure the holes
were sealed tightly.
