Description
This plug and play harness makes adding a subwoofer to your stock system fast and easy. No need to cut or splice your factory wiring. Simply insert the plug behind the head unit (stereo), run the leads to your amplifier or line out converter, and you are ready to add some bass to your Tacoma.
While you are here, be sure to check out our plug and play amps for your Toyota Tacoma. We offer 4 channel, 5 channel & subwoofer amplifiers that are quick and easy to install.
This kit is offered with a few different options.
– 17 Foot Leads–
Skip the cutting and splicing! Get our 17-foot pre-wired kit that runs straight from your head unit to your amp, powered sub, LOC, or DSP. No need to mess with existing wires.
– 0 Foot Leads –
This 0-foot option acts as a bridge between your existing wiring harness and the back of your head unit. This budget friendly option allows you to create your own leads/signal wires.
Harness 1: ADD A SUB
This harness bypasses the need for cutting or splicing by tapping into the speaker outputs of your stock head unit, sending the audio signal directly to your amplifier, powered subs, loc or DSP. They are colored coded to standard 12V industry colors.
If your amp accepts high level input, then it will most likely have an auto start feature. You will want to confirm by checking the manual included with your amplifier.
NOTE: Subwoofer signal is “mono”, you only need one channel to create your subwoofer signal.
Purple – Right Rear Speaker (+)
Purple with Black Stripe Right – Rear Speaker (-)
Harness 2: REMOTE TURN ON /12V
This harness is setup to provide a “turn on/turn off” signal wire for amp(s) that do NOT have “auto start”. It also provides constant 12V circuit.
RED = Remote Turn On
YELLOW = 12V Constant. This is used to power your line out converter or DSP. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POWER YOUR AMP / POWERED SUB WITH THIS WIRE.
NOTE: ALL amps / powered subwoofers will require fused power coming directly from your car battery.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Your amp / powered sub / etc will require a separate power cable / source. DO NOT USE the 12V wire (YELLOW OR RED) from any harness to power your amp.
