The box is massive! It spans the ENTIRE width of the truck. And it fits just below the window. It fits behind the rear seats without making any permanent modifications to your Tundra.
It will be offered in two flavors:
- Two tacotunes.com 12” subwoofers that can handle 1000 watts RMS (ignore peak ratings they are not accurate numbers)
- Two Image Dynamics IDQ12” subwoofers that can handle 1600 watts RMS.
Both sets of subs are full size subs. Shallow mounts subs will sound LOUD at high volume but really lack in the lower end of frequency range. . . most guys end up getting tired of shallow mounts after a while. At first they sound “amazing” then most begin to miss the lower frequency ranges when listening to music. We often hear customers say they get tired of just a loud “thunk” vs good quality bass with actual tonal quality / musicality .
Another common complaint with shallow mount subs in (especially in sealed enclosures) is that the bass tends to “disappear” at lower listening levels. Our subwoofer enclosure is designed to provide “matched” bass at all listening levels. When you are cruising and just want great sound or the weather is amazing and you want to crank it up – this enclosure is the best of both worlds.
