  1. Awesome Sound! Thank you tacotunes.com

    Jason

I really wanted to get the SQ1 package, but I am a father of 2 young kids and just bought a brand new Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. CrewMax. The guys at tacotunes.com really blew me away with their mid level system. A similar system from local car audio shop would have been over 2x the price. If the SQ1 just not in the budget, this system will not let you down.

I am here in San Antonio and work at the Toyota Plant where we make the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma’s. A lot of our guys here at the plant have systems from tacotunes.com. Most of them have the higher end SQ1 system. I already knew I just wanted a basic upgrade. However, when I stopped in at tacotunes.com for a listen, man I almost had to dig deep into the pocketbook. If my wife had just not started a new business, I would have ponied up the extra cash to get the SQ1. But I had to stay on budget.

Over the years I have installed a number of audio systems in my vehicles. I am Quality Inspector and older than most of the younger guys with the big bad systems. All I can say is I am really impressed by this system. I have paid a lot more for a lot less audio system from local shops. I have also built my own systems. I was apprehensive because I had never heard Image Dynamics speakers in person – had heard of them, but never in person. . . went online and looked at the many good reviews on the components installed in my Tundra.

The plug and play amp system is really easy. Don’t get me wrong, it will still take you about 3 – 6 hours get it all installed – depends on your past skill level. . but this is so much easier than any other system I have installed in the past.

    Pros

The clarity of the components is really mind boggling. I have had components in the past, but the Image Dynamics have really impressed me. The subwoofer is unbelievably musical. It does not just “bump” but has all the tonal quality I was not really expecting at a lower price point. I can listen at low volume and still have the low end bass notes present in my music.

    Cons:

The plastic plugs in the amps can be difficult to take out – you have to be really careful not to break them. Once you install them, it is really hard to get them out. This makes clean up and organizing wires a bit of a chore. So don’t plug them in until you are sure they are in place. Plus you will want to tune the amp per the instructions before you do the final assembly. I jumped the gun and installed everything.

There is a little bit of hissing at low volume. You have to really listen to hear it. Not really sure worth mentioning, but thought it was worth tossing out there.

When I turn the truck off, if the system was playing at higher volume, I can hear a ZIP noise when the amps turn off.

Mods made to my truck. I understand more a larger power cable is required, but I had to run wire through the firewall. It was very easy, but I still had to cut a “nipple” that seemed perfect for the job. I had to cut some of my carpet. You won’t ever see it, but I know I cut it and finally, I had to make some small adjustments to the padding on rear wall. Tacotunes.com recommends matting, but I was on a very fixed budget.

    Summary:

First I hope all my cons don’t sound so negative I am just trying to point out what I noticed. Second, If you are looking for amazing dollar to audio system ratio, you will be hard pressed to find a more balanced and well designed system for the money. I would highly recommend this system and not hesitate making this decision again.

  3. Could not have picked a better place!

    tacotunes taco tunes

would like to thank all the staff @ taco tunes for an awesome job installing my plug-n-play system in my tundra.
These guys went above and beyond to get me hooked up with my system. And above all I jus love it. It sounds great it was professionally installed, and that was very important to me.
Again, thank you for changing the way I listen to my music. I couldn’t of picked a better place to have this done.

    Sincerely,
    Steve hoshaw

  4. Exceeded our expectations - as usual tacotunes.com hits homerun.

    tacotunes taco tunes

We have had tacotunes.com install a number of systems in our in house rides. Bang for buck this system was much more than we expected.

  5. If this is the mid level system, I can't even imagine the higher end audio systems.

    tacotunes taco tunes

Drove in from ATX “Hook Em”! to have tacotunes install this system into my Tundra Pro. I was a Chevrolet man for many years and love my Tundra, but the sound system is terrible. I contacted Josh at tacotunes and they scheduled me in for this system and I matted all my doors. It sounds phenomenal. These guys know exactly what they are doing. Not to mention, I wanted to minimize any potential issues with an aftermarket system. The plug and play setup is much much more than I expected.

  6. Blown Away! I could not stop smiling.

    tacotunes taco tunes

I have spent a lot on audio systems over years. This time I just wanted something a little better than stock and did not want to spend a lot of money. This systems sounds better than many systems installed by local audio shops. For the money, you can’t beat this setup.
